Nisreen Sadek: NTC Chairman receives Alaan poll results for Libyans priorities
NTC Chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil received the results of the poll conducted by Alaan TV through its website on priorities of Libyan people in the new government. Abdul Jalil welcomed Alaan TV News Project Manager Nisreen Sadek in his office in the Libyan capital where he took the poll results. NTC Chairman thanked Alaan TV for its continuous support of the Libyan revolution, he also pointed out that his priorities are to fulfill the demands of Libyans, and security is first.
I want to know what are your priorities as a Libyan citizen?
We must thank Alaan TV which accompanied this revolution since it started. Alaan TV was a free and distinguished voice that broadcasted the feelings and demands of Libyan people. All must know that not only the NTC or Transitional Government are responsible for spreading security, but all Libyans in every city and village must participate in spreading security. The rebels must join the programs designed for them by the government, there are border guards, national army and security forces. Libyans must participate in the elections. Security is the priority, but Libyans must help in spreading security including clerics, wise men in tribes and all civilians must urge their sons to join governmental programs either in civil work or military and security. We did everything to make rebels join the army, we even accepted to take them as groups with their field commanders.
Are you going to hand over these priorities to the government?
When the government formed its program, the first thing was security, taking care of the injured rebels and honoring the families of martyrs and missing rebels. The priorities of the poll are the same priorities of the government.
To what extent such polls are important, and to what extent the participation of Libyans in such polls is important?
Surveys and elections culture is not common among Libyans, but we hope that such culture would spread so we would know what Libyans want and try to achieve it. Now people want security in order to go to elections, achieve stability and the development, all are related to security.
