قال عبد الجليل في مؤتمر صحفي إن رئيسَ المجلس المحلي لمدينة بنغازي قد استقالَ من منصبِه، ودعا أعضاء َالمجلس عن المدينة إلى التواصلِ مع المجلس المحلي لمدينتِهم لاختيارِ أعضاء جدد أو تزكيةِ الأعضاء الحاليين في المجلس الانتقالي. كما حذرَ من أن الاعتصاماتِ التي تشهدُها البلاد قد لا تكونُ في صالح ليبيا.
NTC Chairman suspends Benghazi representatives in the NTC
In a press conference, NTC Chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil said that Benghazi Local Council resigned from its post. He also called the members of the city council to communicate with the Local Council of their city to choose new members or recommend the current members in the NTC. He also warned from the protests in the country saying that they are not in Libyas best interest.

There is a resignation letter by the Local Council in Benghazi and the resignation was accepted. The members of NTC representing Benghazi will be suspended till we carry out negotiations with them. In a meeting, we said that NTC members must communicate with the local council in Benghazi to find solutions and elect the most qualified people to be in the Council. The NTC has nothing to do with nominating and electing members represent Benghazi, this must be taken care of by local councils. The second thing which I am warning from is that these protests might not serve our country. All Libyans must know that the Libyan budget subsidize 10 products with $10 billion every year. This amount support oil products like gas and diesel, and it is also used to support electricity.
