Jenan Moussa: Libya ambassador in UAE says Alaans revolution coverage most appreciated
Exclusive interview made by Alaan TV reporter in Tripoli - Libya, Jenan Moussa.
Libyan ambassador in UAE Dr. Aref Ali Al-Nayed said that the Libyan revolution enabled Libya to take its proper position adding that TEDx conference will urge Libyans to create and develop its infrastructure. He also praised the historic relationships that relates between UAE and Libya.
What is your evaluation of holding a conference like TEDx in Tripoli?
Historically speaking, Libyan capital is a melting-pot for economy, ideas, cultures and everything new. New Libya is starting to take its place, people started to come to Tripoli as it was the case in its days of glory. Such occasions are not strange from Tripoli, a place where cultures meet. TEDx is a place for meetings to encourage creation and exchange of ideas and dialogue. We are very happy, a number of officials attended the meeting like the prime minister and a number of ministers. This means that the government is supporting youths and the dialogue between them.
How do you evaluate the relationship between UAE and Libya?
UAE and Libya has a close relationship. From the beginning UAE had an honorable and brave stand in supporting the revolution. UAE supported Libyan revolution in GCC, Arab League and UN. Emirates is now supporting Libya on all levels, like health, education and defense.
Do you aspire to see Libya like UAE?
UAE is a role model for us, we will learn from all countries in the world. I believe that Libya must be the best country in the world because this country has an extraordinary sources human and natural. There are many capable youths.
Did Libya signed any investment contracts with UAE? Is Libya ready for investments?
A number of delegates came from UAE to Libya, the first delegate consisted of 130 people came to Libya from UAE on Eithad Airways. All want to help Libya at a time we bury our martyrs, teat our injured and search for the missing.
Alaan TV is asking Libyans about the priority in Libya, in your opinion, what are the priorities of the new Libya?
I believe the priority is treating our injured rebels, and taking care of martyrs mothers. We must offer all we can to the heroes. Security is a priority, but gathering weapons from the street is one aspect for security. We need to activate training, education, job opportunities and developing our rebels. We must conduct researches and studies about the country. We must let people know that life is moving forward.
We are reaching the first anniversary of the Libyan revolution, Alaan accompanied the revolution from the start, did you saw any report on Alaan TV that affected you?
Not one, many reports affected me. I liked Alaan independent line which gave Libyans alternatives. The truth cannot be hidden, Alaan showed a distinguished angel and made a lot of efforts and spent a lot of money for a continuous coverage all over the year. Alaans efforts are most appreciated and we hope a brighter future for Alaan. In Libya we want diversity and media is the most important and must not monopolized. Libyans have the rights to learn different opinions so they would be aware of how to choose their candidates during elections.
